Gina Anders: “My life is a tango”
Closeness and distance, longing and devotion, strength and vulnerability—making these multifaceted emotions visible is a central hallmark of the art of Gina Anders. In her works, she captures the subtle nuances of the encounter between woman and man. Intensive observations of the tango scene in milongas, bars and historic cafés in Buenos Aires and Europe are her inexhaustible sources of inspiration.
From these impressions, images are created that go far beyond depicting a dance. They capture the music and its passion—and make the invisible visible. Gina Anders works with watercolor, ink, charcoal, and graphite. Characteristic of her works is an expressive brushstroke that connects power and dynamism with the utmost sensitivity.

The art of Gina Anders at exhibitions
Gina Anders’ works are a tribute to her home country, Argentina, and to the inexhaustible variety of tango—its orchestras and its eras. Her works have already been exhibited at many Tango events in Europe, as well as in her birthplace, Argentina. Today, you can admire her art at the “Champagne Tango Club” in Buenos Aires.

Gina Anders at the Champagne Tango Club, Buenos Aires
Since spring 2026, Gina’s artworks have been exhibited at the Champagne Tango Club in Buenos Aires. Gina had her watercolors and drawings professionally framed especially for this. Organizer María López opened the exhibition with a milonga, and ever since then, the dancers have been accompanied by Gina’s inspiring works of art. As a result, the club has gained a particularly elegant atmosphere.

Vita: Two cultures meet
Gina Anders was born in Argentina, near the borders with Paraguay and Brazil. At the age of 10, she emigrated with her family to Germany. Since then, she has always searched for a connection between these two different cultures. From early on, she developed a fascination for the world of art and fashion—the source of inspiration that continues to shape her artistic work to this day.
After completing her studies at the German Meisterschule für Mode (fashion school) in Munich, where she graduated with a diploma, she founded her own advertising agency. For more than two decades, she worked worldwide as a managing partner for renowned companies in the fields of fashion and lifestyle. Her time in the fashion world opened up new perspectives for her and shaped her artistic signature. Since 2008, Gina Anders—who also dances tango herself—has devoted herself intensively to painting, with a focus on tango.
